How do I fit sewing and creativity into my busy life as a mom of five? This video will shed some light on that, as I invite you in to a couple weeks in my life of sewing and creativity, even down to fitting in some sewing while on hold on the phone! We have recently moved to a new property with a large studio on site, so I am working on configuring a new set up for both home and studio sewing.
Top tips for fitting creativity into a busy life:
Prioritize it - creativity is important. It doesn’t matter how many other things we need to get done, we will not be happy people if we aren’t spending time (even just 10 minutes a day!) doing things we love.
If possible, schedule times in your day or week to be creative. If you schedule it in, your life and your family’s life will grow around that.
If possible, allocate your own area of the home to your creative hobbies. If you’re lucky or have been doing it for a long time, this may be your own room. Or, like me in the early stages, it could be as simple as allocating a coffee table or a corner of the dining room to your creativity. Whatever works!
Slow and steady wins the race. It’s amazing what you can accomplish just by spending 10-15 minutes a day on a creative project! Life long creativity is a marathon, not a sprint.
